INNERKRATZERHOF

Prägraten · 1,500 m

Getting here

We are 1,500 metres up above the Virgental valley, at the far end of East Tyrol. That sounds further than it is: two hours from Bolzano, two and a half from Munich.

Plan the route

Prägraten sits in the Virgental, the side valley running west from Matrei towards the Großvenediger. We are the hamlet of Bichl on the Sonnenberg, 1,500 metres up, above the main village.

The one thing your satnav will not tell you: almost everyone comes over the Felbertauern road. It is a toll road, it stays open through the winter, and it is the link East Tyrol depends on.

By car

Where you are coming from, and how long it takes

Driving times with clear roads. On a Saturday morning in July it takes longer — that is the day the whole of Europe drives in the same direction.

  • From Bolzano

    2 h 5 min · 149 km

Via Brixen and Innichen — the shortest way from the south.

  • From Munich

    2 h 30 min · 216 km

Via Kufstein, then follow the signs for the Felbertauernstraße.

  • From Salzburg

    2 h 30 min · 180 km

Via Lofer and Mittersill to the Felbertauernstraße. Via the Tauern motorway and Spittal it is 220 km.

  • From Venice

    3 h · 250 km

Via Udine, Tolmezzo and the Plöcken Pass.

  • From Vienna

    5 h · 470 km

    Via Klagenfurt, Villach and Spittal.

  • From Zürich

    6 h 30 min · 480 km

Via the Arlberg and Innsbruck to Wörgl Ost, then via Kitzbühel and Mittersill.

Driving an electric car: there is a charging point at the municipal office in Prägraten, 1.5 km from the house.

Without a car

You do not need one. We collect you.

The Venedigertaxi is our own business — same family, same telephone number. We drive you here from the airport, the station or the bus stop, and back at the end of the week.

Where we collect you

  • Lienz station · 43 km
  • Sillian station · 75 km
  • Klagenfurt airport · 150 km
  • Innsbruck airport · 200 km
  • Salzburg airport · 200 km
  • Munich airport · 250 km

From anywhere else too, if you arrange it beforehand. And within the valley: over from Kals, if you are walking only part of the Hoch-Tirol route.

How to arrange it

Best to mention the pick-up when you book. Otherwise call the day before with a rough time: +43 4877 5369. By telephone only — the taxi business cannot handle e-mail.

The journeys are not included in the price of the apartment. Which routes exist and what they cost is on the Venedigertaxi Kratzer site.

By train

The nearest stations are Lienz and Sillian. You reach them via Spittal an der Drau, or via Bolzano, Brixen and Innichen.

From there a local bus runs on — or you let us collect you and skip the change altogether.

On arrival

What the first day looks like

If the route is clear

Then all that is missing are the dates
